This is a suit brought in the original jurisdic- tion of the Court by the State of South Australia against the State of Victoria, claiming, in substance, a declaration that a strip of territory about two miles in width along the border between the two States, and which has for upwards of 60 years been in the de facto occupation first of New South Wales and afterwards of Victoria, forms part of the territory of the plaintiff State, with consequent relief. The boundary between the two States was, by the Act 4 &5 Wm. IV. C. 95 and the Letters Patent issued under
