    Lorde v. Transport Board (Barbados) [2001] UKPC 16 (29 March 2001)

Privy Council Appeal No. 27 of 2000

    Marion Lorde

(Administratrix of the Estate of the Desmond Cave, deceased)

    v.
    The Transport Board

    FROM
THE COURT OF APPEAL OF BARBADOS
JUDGMENT OF THE LORDS OF THE JUDICIAL COMMITTEE
    OF THE PRIVY COUNCIL
    Delivered the 29th March 2001
    Present at the hearing:-
    Lord Bingham of Cornhill

    Lord Hoffmann

    Lord Cooke of Thorndon

    Lord Hobhouse of Woodborough

    Lord Scott of Foscote
[Delivered by Lord Bingham of Cornhill]
Their Lordships will humbly Her Majesty that this appeal ought to be dismissed. Despite Mr Connell's and Mr Stuart's attractive and tenacious arguments their Lordships find themselves in full agreement with the trial judge and the Court of Appeal for the reasons which they gave. Their Lordships can add nothing of value to those judgments and do not propose in the circumstances to do more than associate themselves with that reasoning and with the outcome of those judgments. The Appellant must pay the Respondent's costs of this appeal.
