THE QUEEN
V
WYLEY CHE PARKER
| Hearing: | 26 September 2001 |
| Coram: | Blanchard J Heron J Goddard J |
| Appearances: | B Davidson for Appellant (appearance excused) J C Pike for Crown |
| Judgment: | 26 September 2001 |
| JUDGMENT OF THE COURT DELIVERED BY BLANCHARD J |
The Court has received a memorandum from counsel for the appellant indicating that in counsel’s view there are no arguable grounds for appeal and also indicating that he has been unable to contact the appellant after receiving advice in July that the appellant was moving to Australia permanently.
We are satisfied that counsel’s view of the matter is correct and that the appeal lacks any merit. It is accordingly dismissed and the sentence of periodic detention is now to recommence as from the next reporting day.
