NZ POLICE V N HC AK CRI 2006-090-692  24 November 2006

[1]      This proceeding was before the Court today to review a number of matters.  I record that Mr N   appeared but was subsequently excused in order to be with his wife while she gives birth to their child.

[2]      It appears that Mr N   has not breached his bail since the matter was last before the Court on 8 November 2006.  He has also taken further steps to obtain a placement in a residential drug abuse programme.

[3]      For these reasons, the Crown accepts that it  is appropriate for bail to be continued in the interim.   I propose, however, to direct that the matter be called before me on 19 December 2006 at 9:00 am for review.  In the event that counsel are able to file a consent memorandum prior to that date confirming that Mr N   has obtained a placement in a residential programme, I will vacate the call of the matter on 19 December.

[4]      Mr N  is accordingly remanded on bail on existing terms to that date.
