Judgment:

JUDGMENT OF THE COURT

AThe application for leave to appeal is granted ([2025] NZCA 34). The approved question is whether the Court of Appeal was correct to refuse the applicant continued interim name suppression until final disposition of the proceeding.

BWe make an interim order continuing suppression of the applicant’s name, address, occupation and identifying particulars until further order of this Court.

____________________________________________________________________

REASONS

  1. We are advised that trial is scheduled to take place in September 2025.  We do not anticipate this being altered by the grant of leave on interim suppression.
