Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation (Savings and Transitional) Amendment Regulations 2014

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation (Savings and Transitional) Regulations 2014 to continue the operation of the WorkCover Insurance Premiums Order (No. 22) 2014/2015 and the Industry Rates and Industry Claims Cost Rates made pursuant to section 15 of the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993 for the purposes of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 621 of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation (Savings and Transitional) Regulations 2014[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Regulation 1 amended

In regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations, after "Accident Compensation Act 1985" insert

"and the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993".

5Regulation 5 amended

(1)In the heading to regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, after "Accident Compensation Act 1985" insert "and the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993".

(2)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, after "Accident Compensation Act 1985" insert

"and the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993".

6Regulation 5 Table amended

In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert at the end of the Table—

"WorkCover Insurance Premiums Order (No. 22) 2014/2015 under section 15 of the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993 dated 17 June 2014, Victoria Government Gazette P1, 18 June 2014	Section 448
WorkCover Insurance Premiums Order (No. 22) 2014/2015 Industry Rates and Industry Claims Cost Rates under section 15 of the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993, Victoria Government Gazette S199, 23 June 2014	Section 448                 ".

7New regulation 6 inserted

After regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert—

"6   Effect of amendment

These Regulations are taken to have effect from 1 July 2014 as amended by the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation (Savings and Transitional) Amendment Regulations 2014.".

8Expiration

These Regulations expire on 1 July 2016.
