This notice may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety Notice 1992. Commencement 2. This notice commences on 1 February 1994. Definitions 3. In this notice— “electricity, gas and water industry” means that part of industry involved in— (a) the generation, transmission or distribution of electricity; or
Workplace Health and Safety Notice (No. ..) 1992 (b) the manufacture of town gas from coal, petroleum or coal and petroleum; or (c) the distribution of town gas, natural gas or liquefied gas through a mains reticulation system; or (d) the storage, purification or supply of water; or (e) the operation of sewerage or stormwater drainage systems, including sewage treatment plants. Nomination of Health and Safety Officer 4. For the purposes of section 58 of the Act, nomination of a Health and Safety Officer is required for the electricity, gas and water industry. ENDNOTES 1.
