s1 2 s5 Workplace Health and Safety Amendment Regulation No. 39, 2002 (No. 2) 2002 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2002 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the WorkplaceHealthandSafetyRegulation 1997. 3 Amendment of s 159 (Specified electrical equipment) Section 159(1)(b)(i)— omit, insert ‘(i) a type 1 or 2 residual current device; or’. 4 Amendment of s 163 (Specified electrical equipment) Section 163(1)(b)(i)— omit, insert ‘(i) a type 1 or 2 residual current device; or’. 5 Amendment of sch 9 (Dictionary) (1) Schedule 9, definitions “plug” , “portable outlet device” and “socket outlet” omit, insert— “plug” has the meaning given by AS/NZS 3000:2000. 1 1 AS/NZS 3000:2000 Electrical Installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules)— 1.4.67 Plug A device intended for insertion into a socket-outlet, cord-extension socket or plug-socket adaptor to make a detachable connection between the contacts of any such accessory and the conductors of a flexible cord or flexible cable.

The administering agency is the Department of Industrial Relations. © State of Queensland 2002 2 AS/NZS 3105:1998 Approval and test specification—Electrical portable outlet devices— 4.2 Portable outlet device— a device, other than a cord extension set, having a single means of connection to a low voltage supply, and one or more outlet facilities. It may incorporate a reeling or coiling arrangement. The term ‘device’ means ‘electrical portable outlet device’. 3 AS/NZS 3000:2000 Electrical Installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules)— 1.4.78 Socket-outlet A device for fixing or suspension at a point, and having contacts intended for making a detachable connection with the contacts of a plug. The term ‘socket-outlet’ is deemed to include a cord-extension socket attached to a flexible cord which is permanently connected to fixed wiring.
