s1 2 s3 Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) No. 233, 2002 Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2002 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2002 . 2 Notice amended This notice amends the Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Notice 1998. 3 Replacement of ss 3–5 Sections 3 to 5— omit, insert — ‘3 Making advisory standards—sch 1 ‘ (1) The documents mentioned in schedule 1 have been made as advisory standards. 1 ‘ (2) Each advisory standard commences and expires as mentioned in schedule 1. ‘4 Amended advisory standards—sch 2 ‘ (1) The advisory standards mentioned in schedule 2 are amended. 2 ‘ (2) Each amendment takes effect as mentioned in schedule 2. 1 The advisory standards (other than the Health and Safety in Welding Advisory Standard 1999) are available on the department’s website at or may be purchased from Goprint, 371 Vulture Street, Woolloongabba, 4102. (The Health and Safety in Welding Advisory Standard 1999 may only be purchased from the department.) 2 The amended advisory standards are available on the department’s website at or may be purchased from Goprint, 371 Vulture Street, Woolloongabba, 4102.

s4 3 s5 Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) No. 233, 2002 Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2002 ‘5 Repealed advisory standards—sch 3 ‘ (1) The advisory standards mentioned in schedule 3 are repealed. 3 ‘ (2) Each repeal takes effect as mentioned in schedule 3.’. 4 Amendment of sch (Advisory standards) (1) Schedule— renumber as schedule 1. (2) Schedule 1, as renumbered, entries for Excavation Advisory Standard 1999, Falling Objects Advisory Standard 1999, Falls from Heights Advisory Standard 2000 and Work on Roofs Advisory Standard 1999— omit . 5 Insertion of new schs 2 and 3 After schedule 1, as renumbered— insert— ‘SCHEDULE 2 ‘AMENDED ADVISORY STANDARDS section 4 Noise Advisory Standard 1999. The amendment of this standard includes changing the measurement of peak noise from an unweighted (linear) peak sound pressure level, L peak , to a C-weighted peak sound pressure level, L C,peak . The amendment takes effect on 1 February 2003. 4 3 Until their repeals take effect and they are no longer in force, the advisory standards are available on the department’s website at or may be purchased from Goprint, 371 Vulture Street, Woolloongabba, 4102. 4 This amendment was previously notified in the Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Amendment Notice (No. 1) 2002 (2002 SL No. 8).

The amendment of this standard replaces references to AS 1270:1988 - Acoustics - Hearing protectors with references to AS 1270:1999 - Acoustics - Hearing protectors. The amendment takes effect on 1 February 2003. 5 ‘SCHEDULE 3 ‘REPEALED ADVISORY STANDARDS section 5 Excavation Advisory Standard 1999. The repeal takes effect at the end of 31 August 2002. Falling Objects Advisory Standard 1999. The repeal takes effect at the end of 31 August 2002. Falls from Heights Advisory Standard 2000. The repeal takes effect at the end of 31 August 2002.
