This notice may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Amendment Notice (No. 1) 1998 . ˙ Commencement 2.(1) This notice, other than section 5(2), commences on 1 February 1999. (2) Section 5(2) commences on 1 July 1999. ˙ Notice amended 3. This notice amends the Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Notice 1998 . ˙ Insertion of new ss 5 to 7 4. After section 4— insert— ˙ ‘ Code of Practice for Plant amended ‘ 5.(1) The Code of Practice for Plant has been amended by including supplement no. 1 (Concrete pumping). ‘ (2) The amendment commences on 1 February 1999. 1 ˙ ‘ Code of Practice for Plant amended ‘ 6.(1) The Code of Practice for Plant has been amended by including supplement no. 2 (Legionella control in airconditioning units and cooling towers). ‘ (2) The amendment commences on 1 July 1999. 1 The amended advisory standard is available on the department’s website at s5 3 s5 Workplace Health and Safety (Advisory Standards) Amendment (No. 1) No. 359, 1998 ˙ ‘ Repeal ‘ 7.(1) The following advisory standards have been repealed— • Code of Practice for the Safe Treatment, Removal and Disposal of Asbestos-Cement Sheeting and Asbestos Coated Metal Sheeting (1992) • Workplace Health and Safety (First Aid) Advisory Standard 1996 • Workplace Health and Safety (Noise) Advisory Standard 1996. ‘ (2) The repeal takes effect from 1 February 1999.’. ˙ Amendment of schedule (Advisory standards) 5.(1) Schedule— insert— ‘A-C Sheeting Advisory Standard 1999 (expires 1 February 2004) First Aid Advisory Standard 1999 (expires 1 February 2004) Noise Advisory Standard 1999 (expires 1 February 2004)’. (2) Schedule— insert— ‘Health & Safety in Welding Advisory Standard 1999 (expires 1 July 2004)’. 2 2 The advisory standards mentioned in subsection (1) are available on the department’s website at The advisory standard mentioned in subsection (2) may be purchased from any department office dealing with workplace health and safety.
