2 Workplace Health and Safety (A–C Sheeting) Exemption (No. 2) 1992 No. 258, 1992 ˙ Short title 1. This notice may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety (A–C Sheeting) Exemption Notice (No. 2) 1992 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this notice— “a-c sheeting” means— (a) asbestos-cement sheeting; or (b) asbestos coated metal sheeting; or (c) any other building product containing asbestos in a cement or other bonding substance; “approved code of practice” means the code of practice entitled ‘The Safe Treatment, Removal and Disposal of Asbestos-Cement Sheeting and Asbestos Coated Metal Sheeting’ approved by the Minister under section 34 of the Act; “regulation” means the Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 1989 . ˙ What exemption applies to 3. This exemption applies in relation to the treatment, removal or disposal of a-c sheeting if the sheeting is treated, removed or disposed of in accordance with the approved code of practice. ˙ Exemption from Act 4. The following classes of persons are exempted from section 109 of the Act— (a) employers; (b) principal contractors; (c) persons performing work who would, but for this exemption, be required to be the holders of certificates of competency (demolisher Class 5), in order to perform the work.
3 Workplace Health and Safety (A–C Sheeting) Exemption (No. 2) 1992 No. 258, 1992 ˙ Exemption from regulation 5.(1) The following classes of persons are exempted from complying with section 14 of the regulation— (a) employers; (b) principal contractors. (2) The following classes of persons are exempted from Part 29 of the regulation— (a) employers; (b) principal contractors; (c) occupiers; (d) demolishers. ˙ Repeal 6. The Workplace Health and Safety (A–C Sheeting) Exemption Notice 1992 is repealed. ENDNOTES 1. Made by the Director of the Division of Workplace Health and Safety on 7 September 1992. 2.
