2 Workplace Health and Safety (A-C Sheeting) Exemption 1992 No. 227, 1992 ˙ Short title 1. This notice may be cited as the Workplace Health and Safety (A-C Sheeting) Exemption Notice 1992 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this notice— “approved code of practice” means the code of practice entitled ‘The Safe Treatment, Removal and Disposal of Asbestos-Cement Sheeting and Asbestos Coated Metal Sheeting’ approved by the Minister under section 34 of the Act; “a-c sheeting” means— (a) asbestos-cement sheeting; or (b) asbestos coated metal sheeting; or (c) any other building product containing asbestos in a cement or other bonding substance. “defined class of persons” means employers and principal contractors who treat, remove or dispose of a-c sheeting in accordance with the approved code of practice. ˙ Exemption from regulation 3. Subject to section 4, the defined class of persons is exempted from compliance with the following provisions of the WorkplaceHealthandSafety Regulation 1989 — (a) section 14—in so far as it requires the preparation of written details of the proposed method for carrying out the treatment, removal or disposal of a-c sheeting; (b) Part 29. ˙ What exemption applies to 4. The defined class of persons is exempted only in relation to the treatment, removal or disposal of a-c sheeting.
