WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION

No. 44 of 1967

An Ordinance to amend the Workmen's Compensation

Ordinance 1951-1965.

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance 1967.*

(2.) The Workmen's Compensation Ordinance 1951-1965f is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3 . ) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordin­ ance, may be cited as the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance
1951-1967.

2 . Section 14 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1.) the word " workmen " and insert­ ing in its stead the word " workman ".

3. The First Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting paragraph 7 and inserting in its stead the following paragraphs:—

" 6A. The Court may, in the case of weekly payments referred to in clause (i) of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 1 of this Schedule payable in respect of a particular child, order that, instead of those payments being paid into Court, those payments be made, until the Court otherwise orders, to such person as the Court specifies in the order to be applied by him for the benefit of the child.

" 7.—(1.) Where weekly payments (other than payments referred to in clause (i) of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 1 of this Schedule) are payable to a person under a legal disability, the Court may order that, until it otherwise orders—

and 21, 1959; N o . 8, 1961; N o . 10, 1962; and N o . 6, 1965.

(a) the payments be paid into Court; or
(b) the payments be made to such person as the Court specifies in the order

to be applied for the benefit of the person under legal disability.

" (2.) Where a lump sum payment (other than a payment under paragraph 9A of this Schedule) is payable to a person under a legal disability, the payment shall, unless the Court otherwise orders, be paid into Court.

" (3.) Where under this paragraph the payment of a weekly payment or of a lump sum payment is to be paid into Court, the provisions of paragraph 6 of this Schedule with respect to payments into Court in pursuance of that paragraph shall apply to sums paid into Court under this paragraph.

" 7A. An application for an order under paragraph 6A or 7 of this Schedule may
be made on the application of the person liable to make the weekly payments or by

or on behalf of the person to whom or in respect of whom payments are payable.".

4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is

repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—
