No. 36 of 1945.

AN ACT to amend section four of the Workers Homes Act, 1911-1943, and to make provision in the said Act for payment of fees and allowances to members of the Workers' Homes Board.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Workers Homes Act Amendment Act, 1945, and shall be read as one with the

Workers' Homes Act, 1911-1943 (No. 8 of 1912 as reprinted pursuant to the Amendments Incorporation Act, 1938, in Volume 2 of The Reprinted Acts of the Par- liament of Western Australia, 1943, and amended by the Act No 21 of 1943), hereinafter referred to as the prin- cipal Act.

2.    Section four of the principal Act is amended as Amendment

follows:—

(a)

By deleting subsection (2) and inserting in

lieu thereof a subsection as -follows:

(2) (a) The Board shall consist of five members

to be appointed by the Governor;

(b)

of the said five members-

(i) three shall be officers employed i.n the Public

Service of the State;

(ii)    one shall be a person to represent the indus- trial unions of workers registered in con- nection with the various building trades within the State; and

(iii)    one shall be a person with a wide know- ledge of and experience in the building industry who is registered or qualified to be registered as a builder under the Builders Registration Act, 1939-1945.

(iv)    three members shall form a quorum.

(b) by inserting in subsection (5) after the word "officer" in line three of such subsection the words "or person (other than a public officer) as the case may require".

A section is inserted in the principal Act, after

4A. The members of the Board other than the three members who are officers in the Public Service may be paid and receive such fees and allowances in respect of their services as such members as may be prescribed by regulations.
