WORKERS COMPENSATION LEGISLATION (AMENDMENT)

ACT 1991 NO. 100—PROCLAMATION

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Workers Compensation Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 February 1992 as the day on which that Act commences, except for the following provisions:

(a) section 6;

(b)

Schedules 3 (1), 4 (1) and 5–7, and section 5 in its application to those provisions.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation provides for the commencement on 1 February 1992 of all the provisions of the Workers Compensation Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991 other than:

(a) the special provisions relating to certain insolvent workers compensation insurers contained in section 6 (which commenced on the date of assent to

the Act—see section 2 (2)); and

(b) the provisions transferring the administration of Acts relating to insolvent insurers from the GIO to the Workcover Authority and providing for the payment of liabilities from the Insurers’ Guarantee Fund instead of the Insurers ’ Contribution Fund.
