I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Workers Compensation Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1992 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Workers Compensation Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991 (Schedules 3 (1), 4 (1), 5, 6 and 7, and section 5 in its application to those provisions). Those provisions transfer the administration of Acts relating to insolvent insurers from the GIO to the WorkCover Authority and provide for the payment of liabilities from the Insurers’ Guarantee Fund instead of the Insurers’ Contribution Fund.
