consequence of and in connection with the enactment of the Dust Diseases An Act to amend the Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases) Act 1942 in Tribunal Act 1989. [Assented to 23 May 1989]

Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases) Amendment 1989

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

Short title

1.     This Act may be cited as the Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases)

Amendment Act 1989.

Commencement

2.     This Act commences on a day to be appointed by proclamation.

Amendment of Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases) Act 1942 No. 14
3. The Workers' Compensation (Dust Diseases) Act 1942 is amended
by omitting section 6 (2) and by inserting instead the following subsection:

(2) The board is responsible for administering the Fund and is required

to pay out of the Fund—

(a) all compensation payable under this Act;

(b) all money required to pay the fees of members of the board;

(c)

the remuneration payable to the executive member and the staff of the board;

(d) the fees payable to the medical authority;

(e)

the costs of administering this Act and any other money that the board is required to pay under this Act; and

(f)

the costs involved in the operation of the Dust Diseases Tribunal of New South Wales (including the remuneration payable to the registrar and other staff of that Tribunal).
