Workers' Compensation Acts Amendment Act. such candidate has been limited to any particular engine or machinery- or class of engine or class of machinery so that the certificate to be granted to him should in the meantime be a certificate restricted to' certain engin::s or m~ chinery or a certain class of engines or machinery, the Board m'1y grant such certificate of whatever class, restricted as' the BOlrd deem proper under the circumstlnces. Any such restrict:on. shall be denoted by endors3ment upon the c3rtificat3, and the Board, UpO:l being satisfied at any futura time that the person holding SL:chl restricted certific:tte has acquirad further or other experience, may either wholly clllcel such restriction or vary the S'lme so as to enlarge the scope of such certificate. Any such clllcellation or variance of a certificate shall b3 denoted by a further endors3ment upon the same, and for that purpose the holder thereof shall produce the original certificlte to the Board. Every endorsement upon a certificate, whether in the first instance or at any subsequent time, shall be sigmd by the ch3,irman of the BOJrd and bear the date on which such endorsement was made. N T o H .1 E 8.. \VORKERS' [ASSENTED TO 5TH NOVEMBER, 1925. ] C T O IO M N PE A N C S T A S - B E it enacted by the King's ~ 10st Excellent Majesty, ! ~: ~ :~ : :5~ by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as "The TV m'kers' Com- Short titre pensation Acts Amendment Act of 1925," and shall be and . read as one with *" The Workers' Compensation Acts, ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ CjlOn 1916 to 1923," hereinafter collectively referred to as the Principal Act. 2. The following amendments are made in the Amendmentr& Principal Act :- of the Principal Act. (1.) In paragraph (a) of the definition of "'Yorker" Section i$. jn subsection one of section three, the words "whose rate of remuneration at the time of the accident from which the injury arises exceeds ten pounds per we0k' ~ are repealed and the words "whose remuneratIOn exceeds five hundred and twenty pounds a year" are inserted in Ijeu thereof. No. IS, In paragraph (ii.) of subsection 2A of section three, after the words" cut scrub" the words" or haul or load timber or haul and load timber" are inserted. Subsection 3B of section three is repealed and the following subsection is jnserted in lieu thereof : - ,/ Share .. "( 3B.) Notwithstanding any limitation.in paragraph ~ ~ ~ e~ a~ ~ (e) of the definition of "Worker" contained in subsection men., one of this section, every share-farmer and every wages- man, whether a member of the share-farmer's family or not, employed by any share-farmer shall for the purposes of this Act be deemed to be a worker employed by the owner of the farm." After subsecti on 30 of section three the following subsection is inserted :- "(3D.) Provided always that a person shall not be deemed to be a worker under subsection 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 3B, 01' 30 of this section if his remunej.'ation exceeds five hundred and twenty pounds a year." Section 9. (2.) Subsection two of section nine is repealed. Section 14. (3.) In paragraph (iii.) of subsection two of section fourteen, before the word "Compensation" the words " Su bj ect to the provisions of subsection two of section sixteen of this Act" are inserted. Section 14A (4.) In the Table of Industrial Diseases set forth in section l4A of the Principal Act, the provision- "Septic poisoning .. : Any work involving the handling of 11 meat or the manufacture of meat products or animal by-products" is repealed, and the following provis~ ons are inserted in lieu thereof :- Carbon bisulphide poison- ' Any employment involving the use of iug I carbon bislllphide or its preparations ! or compounds. Carbon monoxide poison- : Any employment in which carbon ing i monoxide is used or evolved. Chrome ulceration ... Any employment involving the use of chromic acid or bichromate of am- monium' potassium, or sodium or thei l' preparations. .

Epitheliomatous cancer or Handling of mineral oils, pitch, tar, or ulceration of skin or of tarry compounds. the corneal surface of the eye due to mineral oils, pitch, tar, or tany compounds Septic poisoning .. Any work involving the handling of meat, or the manufacture of meat prcducts or animal by-products; wool- combing, wool-sorting; handling of hides, skins, wool, hair, bristles, or carcasses." (5.) In the first column of the Table of Diseases set t:ection 14B. forth in section 14B of the Principal Act, after the word " pneumoconiosis" the words "pulmonary tuberculosis') are inserted. (6.) In paragraph (iii.) of provision A and in para- graph (ii.) of provision B of subsection two of sect:'on 14B, the words" four hundred pounds" are repealed and the words "four hundred and fifty pounds" are respectively inserted in lieu thereof. The foregoing amendment of the said provisions A and B respectively sh8Jl be deemed to have been made therein at midnjght on the th'rtieth day of September, one thousand njne hundred and twenty-five.
