199 ANNO VICESIMO OCTAVO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 21 of 1979 An Act to amend the Workers ' Compensation Act 1916-1978 in certain particulars ASSENTED TO 15TH MAY, 1979] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Workers' Compensation Act Amendment Act 1979. (2) The Workers' Compensation Act 1916-1978 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Workers' Compensation Act 1916-1979.
200 Workers' Compensation Act Amendment Act 1979, No. 21 2. Amendment of s. 3 . Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by, in the definition " Worker ", omitting paragraph (f) and substituting the following pragraph; " (f) A person who has entered into or works under a contract with an employer, other than a contract of service or apprenticeship in a calling covered by an award or a registered industrial agreement, and who- (i) supplies equipment, plant, machinery (not being tools designed for use by hand) or a motor vehicle (being a commercial motor vehicle fitted with a commercial type body) used for the conveyance of goods (not being tools designed for use by hand) or animals and used in the performance of the contract; or (ii) supplies a motor vehicle of any kind used for driving tuition and used in the performance of the contract;". 3. Amendment of s. 14 . Section 14 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), in provision (A), omitting paragraph (iii) and substituting the following paragraph: " (iii) If the worker does or does not leave dependants, the reasonable expenses of his medical attendance and burial;".
