WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT 1987—REGULATION
(Relating to the current weekly wage rate of certain workers)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Workers Compensation Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on l April 1994.
Amendment
2. The Workers Compensation (General) Regulation 1987 is amended
by omitting item 13 of the Table to clause 9A and by inserting instead the
following items:

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to increase the rate which is taken to be the current weekly wage rate of certain workers under the Workers Compensation Act 1987 and is used for the purpose of calculating compensation payable to them while incapacitated for work. The prescribed rates apply only to workers who became entitled to receive weekly payments in respect of an incapacity for work before 1 February 1992.
This Regulation is made under the Workers Compensation Act 1987, in particular section 42 (1) (d) and clause 7 ( 2 ) (b) of Part 4 of Schedule 6 to the Act (power to prescribe the “current weekly wage rate”) and section 280 (the general regulation making power).
