WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT 1987—REGULATION

(Relating to ministers of religion)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and at the request of the Southside Christian Fellowship, and in pursuance of the Workers Compensation Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1st June, 1994.

Amendment

2. The Workers Compensation (General) Regulation 1987 is amended

by inserting in Schedule 4, in alphabetical order, the following matter:

South Wales Incorporated
affiliated with or
recognised by the
Southside Christian
Fellowship who
receive a stipend
paid by that
congregation

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to provide that certain ministers of religion of the Southside Christian Fellowship are taken to be workers for the purposes of the Workers Compensation Act 1987. This Regulation is made at the request of the Southside Christian Fellowship under clause 17 of Schedule 1 (deemed employment of workers) to the Act.
