Workers' Accommodation Act Amendment Act 1980, No. 39 517 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Workers' Accommodation Act Amendment Act 1980. (2) In this Act the Workers' Accommodation Act1952-1972 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Workers' Accommodation Act1952-1980. 2. Commencement . This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by Proclamation. 3. Amendment of s. 4. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended by in subsection (1)- (a) omitting the terms " Pastoral work ", " Shearer " and " Shearing shed "; (b) omitting from the term " Work " the words " or pastoral work " and the words " (c) Any shearing shed;". 4. Amendment of s. 8. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting paragraph (b). 5. Amendment of s. 12. Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (2), in paragraph (a), omitting all words from and including the words "Any and every building " to and including the words " building or structure: " and substituting the following words:- .Any and every building in which that accommodation is provided or purports to be provided shall be separated from any building or other structure used for any purpose of or connected with the carrying out or carrying on of the work on which such workers are employed and shall be distant at least 45 metres from any such other building or structure:". (b) in paragraph (b) of subsection (3), (i) omitting the expression " workers: " and substituting the expression " workers."; (ii) omitting the proviso thereto.
