I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the WorkCover Legislation Amendment Act 1995, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 1996 as the day on which Schedule 1 [78] to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence a provision of the Workcover Legislation Amendment Act 1995 that alters the penalty (by including the option of up to 6 months imprisonment) for the offence under the Workers Compensation Act 1987 of failing to have workers compensation insurance.
