1. Name of regulation

   This regulation is the Work Safety Amendment Regulation 2010 (No 1).

2. Commencement

   This regulation commences on the day the Statute Law Amendment Act 2010 (No 2), amendment 1.10 commences.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Legislation amended

   This regulation amends the Work Safety Regulation 2009.

4. Section 7 (1) (a) and (b)

   substitute

   (a)if the serious event involves the death of a worker or another person—

   (i)as soon as possible, but not later than 2 hours after the event; and

   (ii)in writing not later than 48 hours after the event;

   (b)for a serious event mentioned in the Act, section 36 (b)—

   (i)as soon as possible; and

   (ii)in writing not later than 8 days after the event;

   (c)if the serious event involves a serious injury to any person—

   (i)as soon as possible; and

   (ii)in writing not later than 48 hours after the event;

   (d)for any other serious event—

   (i)as soon as possible; and

   (ii)in writing not later than 48 hours after the event.
