Wool Tax (Administration) Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and pursuant to section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901,hereby make the following Regulations under the Wool Tax (Administration) Act 1964.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Wool Tax (Administration) Regulations.

Repeal of certain regulations

2. Regulations 29, 30, 32, 33, and 34 of the Principal Regulations are repealed.

Second Schedule

3. The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting Form 2.

Further amendments

4. The Principal Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.

Savings

5. (1) Notwithstanding the repeal effected by regulation 2 and the amendment effected by regulation 4—

(a) regulations 29, 30 and 32 of the Principal Regulations as in force immediately before the date of commencement of these Regulations

continue to apply in relation to the prosecution after that date, under section 61 of the Act as in force immediately before that date, of persons for the offences referred to in those regulations; and

(b) regulations 33 and 34 of, and Form 2 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Regulations as in force immediately before the date of commencement of these Regulations continue to apply in relation to any election made after that date by a defendant pursuant to section 74 of the Act as in force immediately before that date.

(2) In sub-regulation (1), “the Act” means the Wool Tax (Administration) Act 1964.
