1939. No. 156.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY ACT 1905-1936.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1905-1936.

Amendments of the Wireless Telegraphy Regulations. 

Examination for Second Class Commercial Operator’s Certificate.

1. Regulation 130 of the Wireless Telegraphy Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (a)and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

(a)An elementary theoretical knowledge of electricity and of wireless telegraphy and wireless telephony, and knowledge of the adjustment and practical working of the types of apparatus used in the mobile service.”; and

(b) by adding at the end of paragraph (d)the words “, and a message in plain language at a speed of 20 words per minute”.

Amendment of First Schedule.

2.Form 12 in the First Schedule to the Wireless Telegraphy Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (a) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

(a)An elementary theoretical knowledge of electricity and of wireless telegraphy and wireless telephony, and knowledge of the adjustment and practical working of the types of apparatus used in the mobile service.”; and

(b) by adding at the end of paragraph (d)the words “, and a message in plain language at a speed of 20 words per minute ”.
