STATUTORY RULES.

1936. No. 125.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE WINE OVERSEAS MARKETING ACT 1929-1934.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL, in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Wine Overseas Marketing Act 1929-1934.

Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations.

Citation.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations.

Definitions.

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

“the Secretary” means the Secretary to the Board;

“the Overseas Representative” means the person appointed to act outside Australia as the representative of the Board.

Salaries of Officers.

3.— (1.) An officer appointed, transferred or promoted by the Board to an office specified in the Table contained in the Schedule to these Regulations shall be paid the minimum salary set out in that Table opposite to that office, or such higher salary (not exceeding the maximum set out in that Table opposite to that office) as the Board determines.

(2.) Such increments of salary (if any) as the Board determines shall be paid to officers, but so that the annual salary of an officer shall not exceed the maximum salary set out in the Table contained in the Schedule to these Regulations opposite to the office occupied by that officer.

(3.) It shall be a condition of the employment of the Secretary that he shall provide (without cost to the Board) such office accommodation and clerical and typewriting assistance as is necessary in connexion with the performance of his duties.

Travelling expenses.

4.—(1.) The Secretary shall be paid travelling allowance in respect of absence from Adelaide on the business of the Board at the rate of Two pounds six shillings and sixpence per day.

(2.) The Overseas Representative shall be paid travelling allowance at the rate of—

(a)Two pounds eighteen shillings and sixpence per day when required to travel outside the United Kingdom upon the business of the Board; and

(b)Two pounds six shillings and sixpence per day when required to travel within the United Kingdom upon the business of the Board.

(3.) If the Overseas Representative is required to travel from Australia to London in order that he may perform the duties of his office, he shall be paid in lieu of travelling allowance while on board ship the sum of Twenty-five pounds for out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the voyage.

Entertainment allowance.

5. The Overseas Representative shall be paid an allowance of Two hundred and twenty pounds per annum for entertainment expenses.

Fares.

6.—(1.) First class rail or steamer fares shall be allowed to officers who are required to travel on the business of the Board.

(2.) Unless his employment is terminated by death or by his own act or default, the Overseas Representative shall, if he resided in Australia at the time of his appointment, be entitled to a first class passage to Australia on the termination of his appointment.

Leave of absence for recreation.

7. The Overseas Representative shall be entitled to leave of absence for recreation for any period or periods not exceeding three weeks in the whole in each year:

Provided that any leave accumulated in excess of six weeks shall be forfeited.

Salaries and allowances to be subject to Financial Emergency Act.

8. The salaries and allowances prescribed by these Regulations shall be subject to reduction by or under the Financial Emergency Act 1931-1935 in the same manner as they would have been so subject had these Regulations been in force at the time of commencement of that Act.
