REGULATIONS UNDER THE WINE OVERSEAS MARKETING

ACT 1929-1945.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Wine Overseas Marketing Act 1929-1945.

Amendments of the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations.

Definitions.

1. Regulation 3 of the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the definitions of  “ organization” and “ returned soldier ”; and

(b) by omitting from the definition of “standard salary” the words and figures “sub-regulation (1.) to (2a.) (inclusive) ” and inserting in their stead the words and figures 'sub-regulations (1.) and (2.) ”.

Salaries of officers.

2. Regulation 4 of the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “ or Table C, as the case may be,” ;

(b) by omitting sub-regulation (2a.); and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (2b.) the words “ who are members of an organization or are returned soldiers ”.

Duty on holidays.

3.Regulation 6a of the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations is amended—

(а) by omitting the proviso to paragraph (b) of sub-regulation(2.); and

(b) by omitting sub-regulations (4.) and (5.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulation :—

“ (4.) The provisions of this regulation shall not apply to officers in receipt of a salary exceeding a standard salary of One thousand and forty pounds per annum in the case of males and Nine hundred and seventy-eight pounds per annum in the case of females.”.

Overtime.

4.Regulation 7 of the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words “ One shilling per hour and a maximum rate of Eight shillings and sixpence ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Two shillings per hour and a maximum rate of Nine shillings and six and seventeen hundredths pence ” ;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the word “forty” and inserting in its stead the words “ thirty-six and three- quarters ”; and

(c) by omitting sub-regulations (6.) and (7.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulations :—

“ (6.) Officers in receipt of a salary exceeding a standard salary of One thousand and forty pounds per annum in the case of males and Nine hundred and seventy-eight pounds per annum in the case of females shall not be entitled to receive payment for overtime.

“ (7.) The maximum amount payable for overtime worked during a fortnightly pay period shall not exceed the difference between the officer’s salary (including higher duties allowance and other allowances in the nature of salary but excluding payment for duty on Sundays and holidays) for the full fortnightly pay period and the fortnightly equivalent of an amount calculated on the current equivalent of a standary salary of One thousand and forty pounds per annum in the case of males and Nine hundred and seventy-eight pounds per annum in the case of females.”.

Schedule.

5. The Schedule to the Wine Overseas Marketing (Staff) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting Table A and inserting in its stead the following table :—

An allowance at the rate of £24 per annum shall

be paid to a typist under 21 years of age with ability to write shorthand at the rate of 100 words per minute

An allowance at the rate of £36 per annum shall

be paid to a typist under 21 years of age with ability to write shorthand at the rate of 120 words per minute, and to transcribe or type letters and the like with due regard to punctuation and form.

(b) by omitting Table C.

6. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation commencement, on the twenty-ninth day of December, 1949.
