REGULATIONS UNDER THE WINE OVERSEAS MARKETING ACT 1929-1936.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Wine Overseas Marketing Act 1929-1936.

Wine Overseas Marketing (Fees and Expenses) Regulations.

Citation.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Wine Overseas Marketing (Fees and Expenses) Regulations.

Repeal.

2. The Wine Overseas Marketing (Fees and Expenses) Regulations (being Statutory Rules 1929, No. 88, as amended by Statutory Rules 1932, No. 4 and 1936, No. 51) are hereby repealed.

Definitions.

3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

“member” means a member of the Board and includes a deputy of a member;

“the Chairman” means the Chairman of the Board;

“the Executive Committee” means the Executive Committee of the Board.

Fees of Chairman and members.

4.—(1.) There shall be payable to the Chairman the sum of Five pounds five shillings in respect of each day upon which he attends a meeting of the Board.

(2.) There shall be payable to each member the sum of Four pounds four shillings in respect of each day upon which he attends a meeting of the Board.

(3.) There shall be payable to the Chairman and to a member the sum of Two pounds two shillings in respect of his attendance at any meeting of the Executive Committee, irrespective of the number of days upon which that meeting is held.

(4.) There shall be payable to the Chairman and to a member the sum of Four pounds four shillings in respect of each day upon which that person is engaged on such business of the Board as is approved by the Board:

Provided that no fee shall be paid under this sub-regulation to any person in respect of a day upon which he attends a meeting of the Board or of the Executive Committee.

Travelling expenses.

5.—(1.) Where the Chairman or any member resides at a distance of more than fifteen miles from the place where a meeting of the Board or of the Executive Committee is held, or from the place where the business of the Board referred to in the last preceding regulation is transacted, he shall receive an allowance at the rate of Two pounds two shillings per day to cover expenses incurred whilst so travelling.

(2.) In addition to the allowance specified in the last preceding sub-regulation, the Chairman and a member shall be reimbursed the return fares actually and necessarily paid by him in travelling from his place of residence to the place where the meeting is held or the business is transacted:

Provided that where the Chairman or member travels by air and the amount of fare exceeds the amount which would have been payable if he had travelled by rail or steamer, he shall not, except with the approval of the Minister, be entitled to reimbursement of the excess.
