WILIO
v
THE KING
[2023] HCASL 147
M49/2023
The applicant requires an extension of time within which to seek special leave to appeal from a unanimous decision of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria (Priest, Beach and Kaye JJA) dismissing his applications for leave to appeal against conviction and sentence.
The decision of the Court of Appeal is plainly correct and the matter otherwise raises no issue of principle of public importance. Special leave should be refused. That being so, it would be futile to grant the extension of time required.
Pursuant to r 41.08.1 of the High Court Rules 2004 (Cth), we direct the Registrar to draw up, sign and seal an order dismissing the application.
