Wildlife (State Game Reserve) (Amendment)

Regulations 1996

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are—

(a)

to make a minor amendment to the 1Wildlife (State Game Reserve) Regulations 1994 to clarify the intention of the Regulations in relation to the use of bows in reserves; and

(b)

to provide for quail hunting in certain state game reserves.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 87 of the Wildlife Act 1975.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations the 2Wildlife (State Game
Reserve) Regulations 1994 are called the Principal
Regulations.

4. Amendment of regulation 4

In regulation 4 the definition of "bow" is revoked.

5. Amendment of regulation 15

In regulation 15 of the Principal Regulations
1994, at the end of sub-regulation (2)(a)(ii)

insert—

"; or

(iii)  authorising the taking of game birds,who carries or possesses a firearm authorised under the 3Wildlife (Game) Regulations 1990 for the purpose of hunting Stubble Quail in the reserves listed in Schedule 2, in

the period 48 hours before, or at any time during the open season for Stubble Quail; or".

6. Amendment of regulation 16

In regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations, at

the end of sub-regulation (2)(a)(ii) insert—

"; or

(iii)  authorising the taking of game birds, who

uses a firearm in accordance with the

4Wildlife (Game) Regulations 1990 for the

purpose of hunting or taking Stubble Quail, in the reserves listed in Schedule 2, during the open season for Stubble Quail; or".

7. Amendment of regulation 18

In regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations, at
the end of sub-regulation (2)(b) insert—

"; or

(c) authorising the taking of game birds, who hunts, takes or is in possession of Stubble Quail in the reserves listed in Schedule 2, in

accordance with the 5Wildlife (Game)

Wildlife (State Game Reserve) (Amendment) Regulations 1996

Regulations 1990, during the open season for

Stubble Quail.".

8. Amendment of Schedule

In the Schedule to the Principal Regulations, for

"SCHEDULE" substitute "SCHEDULE 1".

9. Insertion of New Schedule 2

After the Schedule to the Principal Regulations insert—

"SCHEDULE 2
