AN ACT to amend the Wildlife Conservation Act

1950.

[Assented to 28 October 1985.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Wildlife and principal

Conservation Amendment Act 1985.	Act.

Section 14

amended. 2. Section 14 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (2) by deleting subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (ba) and substituting the following subparagraph

(ii) a person who commits an offence under section 16 or section 16A with respect to or in relation to such fauna is liable, not- withstanding any other provision of this Act, to a penalty of $10 000. ".

Section 16A

amended. 3. Section 16A of the principal Act is amended

in subsection (1) by inserting after "possession"

the following-

" any protected fauna or ".

Section 17A

amended. 4. Section 17A of the principal Act is amended

(a) by deleting "One hundred dollars" and sub- stituting the following-

" $1000 "; and

(b) by deleting "five dollars or more than twenty dollars" and substituting the following-

" $50 or more than $200 ".

Section 17B

amended. 5. Section 17B of the principal Act is amended in subsection (2) by deleting "One hundred dollars" and substituting the following-

" $1 000 ".

Section 20

amended. 6. Section 20 of the principal Act is amended in

subsection (2b) by deleting "Two hundred dollars"

and substituting the following-

" $2 000 ".

7. Section 23F of the principal Act is amended in =VP

subsection (6) by deleting "one thousand dollars"

and substituting the following-

" $10 000 ".

8. Section 26 of the principal Act is amended in aSectione cr

subsection (1)-

(a) by deleting "four hundred dollars" and sub- stituting the following-

$4 000 "; and

(b) by deleting "two hundred dollars" and sub- stituting the following

$2 000 ".
