AN ACT to amend the Wildlife Conservation Act

1950-1979.

[Assented to 19 November 1980.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Wildlife Short title

Conservation Amendment Act 1980. citation.

(2) In this Act the Wildlife Conservation Act

1950-1979 is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950-1980.

Section 23C

amended. 2. Section 23C of the principal Act is amended

(a) in subsection (2) by deleting "Until revoked" and substituting the following-

" Subject to this section " ;

(b) by inserting after subsection (2) the follow- ing subsection-

" (2a) Subject to subsection (5) of this section, a license shall be valid for 12 months from the date of issue or for any shorter period that may be stated in the license. "

(c) by inserting after subsection (4) the follow- ing subsection-

" (4a) The Minister may reduce or waive the fee payable in respect of a license issued under this section. "

Section 23D

amended. 3. Section 2313 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (5) the following sub- sections

" (5a) Subject to subsection (6) of this section, a license shall be valid for 12 months from the date of issue or for any shorter period that may be stated in the license.

(5b) The Minister may reduce or waive the fee payable in respect of a license issued under this section. "

Section 23DA

inserted. 4. After section 23D of the principal Act, the

following section is inserted-

Transitional.

" 23DA. A license issued under section 23C

or section 23D of this Act prior to the com-

mencement of the Wildlife Conservation

Amendment Act 1980 shall expire in accord- ance with its terms and if no period of validity or date of expiry is stated in the license shall expire 12 months after the date of commence- ment of the Wildlife Conservation Amend- ment Act 1980. "
