Wildlife (Amendment) Regulations 2001

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend Schedules 2 and 3 to the Wildlife Regulations 1992—

(a)	to increase the categories of wildlife licences under which the licence holders may deal with the Centralian Carpet Python; and
(b)	to increase the taxa of protected wildlife that may be dealt with by the licence holders under those Regulations.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 87 of

the Wildlife Act 1975.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Wildlife Regulations
19921 are called the Principal Regulations.

4. Amendment to Schedule 2

In Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, under the heading "Reptiles", after—

"Carpet or Diamond Python Morelia spilota"

insert—

"Centralian Carpet Python Morelia bredli".

5. Amendments to Schedule 3

In Part B of Schedule 3 to the Principal

Regulations—

(a)	under the heading "Reptiles", omit—
"Centralian Carpet Python Morelia bredli";
(b)	under the heading "Reptiles", after—
"Brown Tree Snake Boiga irregularis"

insert—

"Northern Long-necked Chelodina rugosa";

Tortoise

(c)	under the heading "Reptiles", after—
"Spencer's Monitor Varanus spenceri"

insert—

"Southern Angle-headed	Hypsilurus
Dragon	spinipes";

(d)

under the heading "Mammals", after—

"Red Kangaroo Macropus rufus"

insert—

"Brush-tailed Bettong Bettongia pencillata".
