An Act to amend the Wilderness Act 1987 as a consequence of the

enactment of the National Parks and Wildlife (Amendment) Act 1989.

Wilderness (Plans of Management) Amendment 1989

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Wilderness (Plans of Management)

Amendment Act 1989.

Commencement

  1. This Act commences at the commencement of Schedule 1 (3) to the

National Parks and Wildlife (Amendment) Act 1989.

Amendment of Wilderness Act 1987 No. 196

  1. The Wilderness Act 1987 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

    SCHEDULE 1—AMENDMENTS

(Sec. 3)

(1) Section 17 (Plans of management for land subject to wilderness

protection agreements)

After section 17 (2), insert:

(3) A plan of management is not required to be prepared under this Act for an area of land if a plan of management is being or has been prepared under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 for that land.

(2) Section 19 (Plans prepared under the National Parks and Wildlife Act

1974)—

After "area", insert ", or for any part of a wilderness area or an area subject to or proposed to be made subject to a wilderness protection agreement,".
