(AMEND­

MENT) ACT.

Act No, 23, 1929.

An Act to make certain provisions relating to George v,

the administration of the Widows’ Pensions Act, 1925; to amend that Act in certain respects ; and for purposes connected there­

with.

| 1 E it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, _ D by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Xew South "Wales in Parliament assemlhed, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act may be cited as tlie “ "Widows’ simrt title

3 . The Widows’ Pensions Act, 1925, is amended—

(a)

by omitting from section three tlie definition sec. 3.

of the word “ Eegistrar ” ;

(b) (i) by omitting from subsection one of section Sec. 5.

five the words “ a Registrar of "M̂ idows’ (Registrar.)

(ii)  by omitting from subsection two of the same section the words “ The registrar and ” and by inserting in lieu thereof the word “ Such ” ;

(c)

hy inserting next after section five the fol­ lowing new section;—

Registrar.

5a . (1) The person who for the time being holds the office of secretary of the department appointed to administer the Child "Wcirare Act, 1923, shall be the registrar for the purposes of this Act.

(2) (a) The Minister may from time to time hy rvriting under his hand authorise any officer of the Tuhlic Service to exercise, either generally or in any particular case or class of cases, all or any of the powers, authorities,

duties and functions conferred and imposed upon the Registrar hy this Act or the regulations.

(h) An officer so authorised shall, when acting within the scope of his authority, be deemed to ho the registrar for all purposes of this Act and the regulations.

(c) The Minister may from time to

time hy writing under his hand revoke any

authority given by him under this subsection.
