Australia, as follows:— BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Widows' Pensions Act	S h o r t	t i t l e
a n d	c i t a t i o n.

(2.) Section nine of the National Welfare Fund Act 1945* is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).

(3.) The Widows' Pensions Act 1942-1944†, as amended by the National Welfare Fund Act 1945, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(4.) The Principal Act, as amended by. this Act, may be cited as the Widows' Pensions Act 1942-1945.

Commencement.	2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

o f 3. Section fifteen of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-section (1.) the words "E igh ty - th ree pounds four shi l l ings" and insetting in their stead the words " N i n e t y - seven pounds ten shil l ings".

4. Section twenty-six of the Principal Ac t is amended by omitting

from sub-section (1.) t he words "Twenty-seven shi l l ings" and

inserting in their stead the words " O n e pound twelve shillings and

six p e n c e ".

A p p l i c a t i o n o f 5. The amendments effected by this Act shall apply in relation to the instalment of pension falling due on the sixteenth day of October, One thousand nine hundred and forty-five, and to all subsequent instalments.
