1 8 8 8 " be deemed and t a k e n to be t he " C o n s t r u c t i n g A u t h o r i t y " author ized to en te r in to contrac ts , and to exercise al l powers, do al l ac ts a n d th ings , a n d be responsible in respect of all obligations a n d liabilit ies wh ich can be done or incur red by a " Cons t ruc t ing A u t h o r i t y " u n d e r or p u r s u a n t to th is A c t or t h e said Pub l i c W o r k s Act , so far as m a y be necessary for t he ca r ry ing out of t he work he reby sanc t ioned ; b u t subject , in respect to t he said Board, to tho provision in t h e said following section contained. The p lans of t h e aforesaid port ions of such work hereinafter referred to arc those m a r k e d " W e s t e r n Suburbs Sewerage Scheme Ret icu la t ion a n d Com ple t ion ," and numbered one and two respect ively, signed by t h e Secretary for Pub l i c W o r k s , and counters igned by the Commissioner a n d Engineer- in-Chief for Roads and Bridges , and deposited in t h e
| office of t he Secretary for | Pub l i c | W o r k s . |
3. For t h e purpose of car ry ing out t h e por t ion of t he said
work requi red to be carried out by t h e said Board, such Board, subject to t h e approval of the Secretary for Pub l i c W o r k s , shall have power to appoin t such officers and persons as they m a y t h i n k necessary, and for such periods as they may t h i n k fit; and the salaries or r emunera t ion of such officers and persons shall be defrayed from t h e Loan Votes hereinaf ter ment ioned ; A n d t h e provisions of sections th i r ty , th i r ty -one , th i r ty - two , th i r ty - th ree , and thir ty-s ix of t he "Me t ropo l i t an W a t e r and Sewerage A c t of 1 8 8 0 " shal l be appl ied to t he said Board a n d to all m a t t e r s and th ings done or proposed to be done by t h e m
| a s fully as if | t h e work to be carried out | by t h e m u n d e r th i s A c t were |
a work author ized by the said A c t of 1880.
4. The cost of car ry ing ou t t he works described in Schedule A,
es t imated a t t h e s u m of four h u n d r e d thousand pounds , and t h e cost of ca r ry ing ou t t he works described in Schedule B , es t imated a t t he cost of th ree h u n d r e d and th i r t een thousand five hundred and n ine ty- two pounds , shall be defrayed from such Loan Votes a s a rc now o r m a y hereafter be appl icable there to .
5. On complet ion of a n y p a r t or pa r t s of t he works hereby
