Act No. 25, 1987

An Act to amend the Western Lands Act 1901 with respect to transfers of, and other dealings with, certain leases. [Assented to 5 May 1987]

Western Lands (Amendment) 1987

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the “Western Lands (Amendment) Act

1987” .

Amendment of Act No. 70, 1901

2. The Western Lands Act 1901 is amended in the manner set forth in

Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1

(Sec. 2)

AMENDMENTS TO THE WESTERN LANDS ACT 1901

Section I8 g (Transfers)—

(1) Section I8g (1a), ( I b)—

Omit the subsections, insert instead;

( Ia) The Minister has discretion to grant or refuse consent

under subsection (1).

(2) Section IStt (4b)—

After section 18g (4a), insert:

(4b) The Minister has discretion to grant or refuse consent

under subsection (4a).
