WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ORDINANCE

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES REGULATIONS*

REGULATIONS 1966, No. 6t

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the fourteenth day commence-

of February, 1966. ment-

2.—(1.) Regulation 2 of the Weights and Measures Regulations is Modification,

amended by omitting paragraph (/) and inserting in its stead the following lations under
paragraph:- SSSSXt*

" (/) Regulation 76A of Part IV. shall be read as if—

(i) the following paragraph were substituted for para-

graph (c):—

" (c) Value graduations shall not represent more

than:—

(i) One cent in relation to prices not exceeding Thirty cents per pound;

(ii) Two cents in relation to prices exceeding Thirty cents per pound but not exceeding Sixty cents per pound; and

(iii) Three cents in relation to prices

exceeding Sixty cents per pound,

and graduation lines shall not be less

1/100th inch in width;"; and

(ii) the following proviso were substituted for the proviso

to that section:—

" Provided that instruments stamped in pur- suance of the Weights and Measures Act 1898 of the State of New South Wales prior to the first day of January, 1926, may be restamped.".

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ORDINANCE—

(2.) Regulation 2 of the Weights and Measures Regulations is

amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (/?) the word " and" (second

occurring); and

(b) toy inserting, after paragraph iff), the following paragraph:—
" (fg) Part X. chall be read as if the Table set out in the

Schedule to these Regulations were substituted

for Table XI.; and".

Weights and Measures Regulations

Weighing machines (fixed or portable), steelyards, heavy capacity

spring balances, and similar types:— $

Each $0.30 for the first cwt capacity, plus $0.10 for each addi-

tional cwt capacity, or part thereof, maximum fee . . 3.00 each
Minimum fee, fixed machines 1.50 each

Automatic weighing machines—

The prescribed fee for weighing machines according to capacity,

plus $1.00 each.

Weighing and counting machines— $

The prescribed fee for weighing machines according to capacity,

plus half, minimum fee . . . . . . 1.00 each

Computing scales—

Not exceeding 10 lbs capacity . . . . . . 0.50 each
Exceeding 10 lbs capacity . . . . 1.00 each

Counter scales, beam scales, spring balances, non-computing self-

indicating scales and similar types:—

These fees include the stamping of one set of proportional weights where suoh are

used, duplex sets to be charged half fees in addition.

In the case of weighing instruments graduated in centals, read " 100 lbs " in lieu

of " 1 cwt".

Where an instrument consists of more than one measuring unit the fee for each

unit additional to the first shall be $1.50.

One-half of the fees prescribed shall be charged for weights, measures or weighing

or measuring instruments tested and rejected as incorrect or otherwise unsuitable but

where fractions of a cent occur they shall be charged as One cent.

Where fees in respect of a visit to premises as prescribed in regulations 117 and 121 of Part IV. of these Regulations are chargeable, such fees shall be in addition to the appropriate fees prescribed in this table.
