REGULATIONS UNDER THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (NATIONAL STANDARDS) ACT 1960-1966.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Act 1960-1966.

Amendments of the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations 

Units of measurement of temperature.

1. Regulation 64 of the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“ (3.) Kelvin degrees may also be referred to as Kelvins.”.

Fifth Schedule.

2. The Fifth Schedule to the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations is amended by inserting after the words—

“ millilitre ................................................... 0.000 001 ............... Ml ”

the words—

“ microlitre................................................. 0.000 000 001 ........ µl ”

Seventh Schedule.

3. The Seventh Schedule to the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations is amended by inserting after the words—

“ Gramme per cubic centimetre ................... 1000 ...................... g/cc or g/cm3 ”

the words—

“ Tonne per cubic metre .............................. 1000 ...................... t/m3 or t/cu m ”.

Eighth Schedule.

4. The Eighth Schedule to the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the words—

“ Nanosecond ............................................. 0.000 000 001 ........ ns ”.

Tenth Schedule

5. The Tenth Schedule to the Weights and Measures (National Standards) Regulations is amended by inserting after the words—

“ Centimetre per second .............................. 0.01 ....................... cm/sec or cm/s or cmps ”

the words—

“ Millimetre per second .............................. 0.001 ..................... mm/s ”.
