' , amendments are made in the !lle:suring t (1.) In section two, after the definition of "Local Ins rumen B. standards" the following definition is inserted :_ Measuring instrument. ""Measuring instrument" -Any instrument,. utensil, machine, or appliance (other than" standard measures of extension or capacity) used for the measurement of length, capacity, or volume: the term includes any se1£- measuring pump machine or appliance what- soever." (2.) In section ten, the words "Under Secretary to the Treasury" are repealed and the words "Chief Inspector" are inserted in lieu thereof. (3.) In sections four and nineteen, after the words "weighing instruments," wherever they occur, the words "and measuring instruments" are respectively inserted. (4.)· In section eighteen the words "by the Schedule to this Act" are repealed. (5.) In section twenty-one, after the words" weigh- ing instrument," where they firstly and secondly occur, the words" and measuring instrument" are respectively inserted; and after those words, where they thirdly occur, the words" or measuring instrument" are inserted; also, the words "in the Schedule to this Act" are repealed. (6.) In section twenty-three, after the words "weighing instruments," where they first occur, the words "and measuring instruments" are inserted, and where they secondly occur the words "or measuring instruments" are inserted; also, the words" by the Schedule to this Act" are repealed; also, after the words "weighing instru- ment," where they thrice occur, the words" or measuring instrument" are respectively inserted; also, after the word "kind" the words "and inspect any weights, measures, weighing instruments, or measuring instru- ments of every kind in or upon any road or street, or in or upon any vehicle upon any road or street" are inserted. (7.) In sections twenty-four and twenty-five, after the words "weighing instrument," wherever those words occur, the words" or measuring instrument" are respec- tively inserted; also, in the last paragraph of section twenty-four, after the word "measure" the words "or weighing instrument or measuring instrument" are inserted.

In section twenty-seven, after the words "weigh- ing instrument" the words" or measuring instrument" are inserted. (10.) In section twenty-eight, after the words "weigh- ing instrument," where those words twice occur, the words "or measuring instrument" are respectively in- serted; also after the words "weighing instruments" the words "and measuring instruments'" are inserted. (H.) In subsection two of section thirty, after the words" weighing instrument" the words" or measuring instrument" are inserted. (12.) In section 30A, after the words "weighing instruments" the words "and measuring instruments" are inserted. (13.) In· paragraphs (vi.), (viL), (x.), and (xi.) of section thirty-one, after the words .. weighing instru- ments" the words" and n~ easuring instruments" are inserted. In paragraph (viiA.) of the said section, after the words "weighing instrument" the words "and measuring instrument" are inserted. In paragraph (xi.) of the said section, the words " Reducing the fees payable" are repealed and the words "Fixing the fees payable in respect of any comparison, adjustment, verification, stamping, or service" are inserted in lieu thereof.
