AN ACT to amend the Weights and Measures Act,

1915-1941.

[Assented to 11th November, 1958.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation	1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Weights and Measures Act Amendment Act, 1958.

2.    This Act shall come into operation on a day gler:ence-

by or under the Commonwealth Act, to be provided and deposited at the Treasury; and

(ii) the weights or measures so provided and deposited to be verified and re-verified as pre- scribed, and at the intervals of time prescribed, by or under the Commonwealth Act; and

(b) recommend to the Governor that the Governor by notice published in the Gazette declare the weights or measures, as the case may be, provided and deposited at the Treasury in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (a) of this section, to be the standard, or, as the case requires, units of weight and measure for the State, and the Governor shall give effect to the recommendation of the Minister and after the publication of the notice in the Gazette, the weights, or measures are the standard, or as the case requires, units, of weight and measure for the State.

amended

(a)	by substituting for the word, "proclamation" in line one, the word, "notice";
(b)	by adding after the word, "standard" in line two and again in line three, the passage, ", or unit"; and
(c)	by substituting for the words, "and mayrevoke or alter any such proclamation" in

lines three and four, the passage, " and may revoke, vary, or amend a notice pub- lished in the Gazette pursuant to paragraph (a) of section eight B of this Act, or this section".

Section thirteen of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "verified" in line three, the words, "and re-verified as prescribed by or under the Commonwealth Act".	amended.
7. Section fourteen of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "verified" in line two of subsection (2), the words, "and re-verified as prescribed by or under the Commonwealth Act".	8:14
