THE TERRITORY FOR THE SEAT

OF GOVERNMENT.

No. 11 of 1932.

AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Weights and Measures Ordinance 1929.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Seat of of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Executive Government Acceptance Act 1909 and the Seat of Government
(Administration) Act 1910-1931, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Weights and short title ana

Measures Ordinance 1932.

(2.) The Weights and Measures Ordinance 1929 is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Weights and Measures Ordinance 1929-1932.

2. This Ordinance shall be deemed to have commenced on the Commencement,

date of the commencement of the Principal Ordinance.

3. The Principal Ordinance is amended as set out in the Amendments to

Schedule to this Ordinance. olSnce.

4. After section three of the Principal Ordinance the following Application

" 3 A . — (1.) Subject to this Ordinance, the Regulations under the Weights and Measures Act, 1915 of the State of New South Wales in force from time to time in that State shall, subject to such modifications, adaptations and exceptions as are prescribed, apply to the Territory.".

5. Section five of the Principal Ordinance is amended— Definitions.

(a) by adding at the end of the definition of "Inspector"

the words "and the regulations"."

(6) by adding at the end of the definition of "Regulations" the words "and includes the Regulations applied by section Three A of this Ordinance"; and
(c) by inserting, before the definition of " to stamp", the

following definition:—

' ' ' this Ordinance' includes the regulations made

thereunder;' ' .

6. Section eight of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and

the following section inserted in its stead:—

Appointment " 8 . — (1.) The Minister may appoint such Inspectors of

of Inspector*,

Weights and Measures as he thinks fit.
" (2 . ) Any Superintendent appointed under the Weights and Measures Act, 1915 of the State of New South Wales may (if thereto authorized in writing by the Minister) exercise all the powers and, functions of an Inspector under this Ordinance and of the Superintendent and an Inspector under the regulations.

" (3 . ) Any Inspector appointed under that Act may (if ..thereto authorized in writing by the Minister) exercise all the powers and functions of an Inspector under this Ordinance and the regulations.".
