664 Weekend Detention Act Amendment Act 1984, No. 60 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title. (1) This Act may be cited as the Weekend Detention Act Amendment Act 1984. (2) In this Act the Weekend Detention Act1970-1983 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Weekend Detention Act1970-1984. 2. Sentence of weekend detention prohibited . On and from the commencement of this Act a sentence of weekend detention shall not be imposed instead of a sentence of imprisonment either in the first instance or upon default, except on an appeal brought in respect of a sentence of weekend detention. 3. Repeal of provisions for imposition of weekend detention . Sections 3 (4), 4 and 6 of the Principal Act are repealed.
