Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Regulation are:
| (a) | to make it clear that silencers are subject to strict safe keeping requirements, and |
| (b) | to correct cross-references to types of prohibited weapons specified in Schedule 1 to the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998. |
This Regulation is made under the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998, including section 50 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Weapons Prohibition Amendment (Law
Revision) Regulation 2011.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Weapons Prohibition Regulation 2009
(1) Clause 18 Production permit Omit “clause 2 (1)” from clause 18 (7). Insert instead “clause 1A (1)”.
(2) Clause 35A Safe keeping requirement levels Omit “clause 4 (2)–(8)” from clause 35A (1) (d).
Insert instead “clause 4 (2) or (4)–(8)”.(3) Schedule 1 Persons exempt from requirement for permit Omit “clause 4 (4) (e)” from clause 5 (2) of the Schedule.
Insert instead “clause 4 (4) (f)”.
