Water Resources (Extension of Adopted Management Policies) Regulations 1998

under the Water Resources Act 1997

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Water Resources (Extension of Adopted Management Policies) Regulations 1998.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on the day on which they are made.

3—Interpretation

In these regulations—

the Act means the Water Resources Act 1997.

4—Extension of period

  1. (1)

    Subregulation (2) applies in relation to the management policies adopted by the Minister under clause 2(15) of Schedule 3 of the Act that relate to—

    1. (a)

      the underground water resources of the prescribed wells areas listed in the Schedule.

  2. (2)

    The period of one year referred to in clause 2(15)(a) of Schedule 3 of the Act is extended by three years in relation to the management policies in relation to which this subregulation applies so that they may remain in force until the expiration of four years after the commencement of the Act.

  3. (3)

    Subregulation (4) applies in relation to the management policy adopted by the Minister under clause 2(15) of Schedule 3 of the Act that relates to the River Murray prescribed watercourse.

  4. (4)

    The period of one year referred to in clause 2(15)(a) of Schedule 3 of the Act is extended by four years in relation to the management policy in relation to which this subregulation applies so that it remains in force until the expiration of five years after the commencement of the Act.
