Water Rates (Amendment) Act (No 2) 1976 (ACT)

AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Water Rates Ordinance 1959.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

WATER RATES (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE (No. 2) 1976

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Water Rates (Amendment)

Ordinance (No. 2) 1976.*

2. In this Ordinance, " Principal Ordinance" means the Water

Rates Ordinance 1959.

3 . The Principal Ordinance is amended as set out in the following

4. The Principal Ordinance is further amended as set out in the

Schedule.

5. (1) The amendments of the Principal Ordinance effected by Part I of the table in section 3 apply to and in relation to the rating year that commenced on 1 July 1976 and to and in relation to each subsequent rating year.

(2) The amendments of the Principal Ordinance effected by Part II of the table in section 3 apply in relation to water supplied in the first meter reading period that ends on or after 1 July 1977 and in each subsequent meter reading period.

(3) An expression in this section that is defined in the Principal Ordinance as amended by this Ordinance has the same meaning for the purposes of this section as it has in the Principal Ordinance as so amended.
