AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Water Rates Ordinance 1959-1975.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government

(Administration) Act 1910-1973.

WATER RATES (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1976

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Water Rates (Amend­

ment) Ordinance 1976.*

(2) The Water Rates Ordinance 1959-19751 is in this Ordinance

referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may

be cited as the Water Rates Ordinance 1959-1976.

2. Section 20B of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

the words " One dollar " and substituting the symbol and figure " $5 ".

3. Section 21 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)

by omitting from sub-section (1) the words " Two dollars" and substituting the symbol and figures " $10 "; and

(b)

by omitting from sub-section (2) the words " the fee of Two dollars " and substituting the words " the fee paid for the purpose of sub-section (1) ".

4. Notwithstanding the amendments of the Principal Ordinance made by this Ordinance, sections 20B and 21 of the Principal Ordinance as in force immediately before the commencement of this Ordinance continue to apply to, and in relation to, requests made for the purposes of those sections before the commencement of this Ordinance.
