Water Management (General) Amendment
(Floodplains) Regulation 2016

Water Management Act 2000
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following
Regulation under the Water Management Act 2000.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Regulation are as follows:
| (a) | to enable certain land that was designated as a floodplain under the Water Act 1912 and taken to be a floodplain under the Water Management Act 2000 (the principal Act) to cease to be taken to be that floodplain if it is later declared under the principal Act to be, or to form part of, another floodplain, |
| (b) | to declare certain land to be the Gwydir Valley Floodplain for the purposes of the principal Act. |
This Regulation is made under the Water Management Act 2000, including section 400 (the general regulation-making power), the definition of floodplain in the Dictionary to the Act and clause 12 of Schedule 9 (Savings, transitional and other provisions) to the Act.

2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
